Y Combinator application is in

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, and try again.

This sat as a draft for a few days, as I got pulled away just as I typed it out. Here it is, long overdue!

We’ve been here before, or at least I have. Y Combinator is among the premier startup accelerators, and it has been a goal of mine to get into their program. Acceptance into their program comes with an investment into your business, but it comes along with a massive network of companies that have gone through their program, including Airbnb, DoorDash, Coinbase, Dropbox, and many many more.

This is my fourth application in a row, and that includes three rejections. Clearly it’s hard when you face rejection, but I continue to be hopeful especially as YC itself encourages founders to re-apply again and again.

As I look back at my previous attempts to get into their program, it is very clear how much the idea for This Startup has evolved and gotten stronger. Without question this is our best idea, team, and effort that we have going for us.

So now we wait. Actually, no we won’t wait.

We will continue with our grind and continue to work with our prospective clients, do some testing, and continue to improve where we are at. When the YC team invites us for an interview, we will have measurable progress to talk about.

Until then, the journey continues.
